Hybrid athlete training
Lift heavy. Run fast. Stop choosing.
Hybrid training fails when the running is aimless and the lifting ignores it. PRE SZN was built by a professional S&C coach for athletes who need both: paired gym and running programs, speed work that respects your legs, and one readiness picture across all of it.

The interference problem
Long slow mileage next to heavy lifting blunts both. The fix is specificity: sprints, shuttles and speed endurance train the engine field sports and physiques actually use — in thirty minutes, not ninety.
The scheduling problem
Hard days must not collide. The paired PRE SZN programs sequence gym and track so the speed day lands fresh and the legs recover into the next heavy lower day.
The measurement problem
Two apps means two truths and no answer. PRESZN scores every hard set against your own four-week average AND tracks every run from the watch — one ledger, one readiness picture.
The paired programs
PRE SZN Elite 12 Weeks is the gym half: five sessions a week of strength, power and Olympic-lift progressions across four escalating blocks — with cluster sets keeping the bar fast. PRE SZN Running is the track half: three thirty-minute days of speed development, fitness and speed endurance.
Run them together and the week is a complete hybrid prescription — written to coexist, not competing for your recovery. Prefer to peak in the weight room first? Triphasic converts strength to speed in ten weeks. And if your sport is rugby, the whole stack is laid out on the rugby training page.

Every session is scored
PRESZN's referee contests every hard set against your own trailing four-week average — you against your average, every session, both sides of the sport. Records pay. Warm-ups cost nothing. And when you want company, rivals and live battles turn a Tuesday session into a fixture.

What is a hybrid athlete?
Someone who trains strength and endurance seriously at the same time — a lifter who runs, a runner who lifts, a field-sport athlete who needs both. The training challenge is interference: done badly, each side blunts the other. Done properly, they compound.
Can you build muscle and run in the same week?
Yes — the evidence is clear that concurrent training works when the volume is managed and the hard days are kept apart. Short, specific running (sprints, tempo work) interferes far less with lifting than endless steady mileage.
How do I structure a hybrid training week?
Anchor the week on your gym sessions, give speed work its own fresh day, and let easy conditioning fill the gaps. PRE SZN Elite (5 gym days + 1 conditioning day) paired with PRE SZN Running (3 short track days) is a complete worked example.
How does PRESZN track both?
Lifting is logged set by set with live scoring against your own four-week average; running is tracked on the Apple Watch with GPS, heart rate, sprint distance and high-speed running. Both feed one readiness picture, so you can see when to push and when to back off.
